Amtech Corporation Expands Through Acquisition
October 30, 2009 by Dave McFadden
Amtech Corporation recently completed its acquisition of Dynamic Fabricators, an Idaho-based manufacturer of cooling tower components. Amtech plans to consolidate Dynamic’s operations at its facility in Wapato. According to President Doug Christie, "This purchase allows us to better utilize our existing plant capacity and overhead in Wapato. The addition of Dynamic’s cooling tower products also diversifies our production and gives us access to another market we do not currently service. The company fits into our longer term growth plans." Christie explained it is difficult to grow revenues in a tough economy based on existing product lines. As a result Amtech is looking at acquisitions and partnerships that can boost its sales. The company plans to add 20-25 jobs as a result of the acquisition.
Amtech is a diverse manufacturer of composite-based products and parts. With expertise in design, engineering, and research and development, Amtech’s products are distributed in both military and commercial markets. The company expanded to the Yakima Valley eight years ago and started operations with 30 employees. Amtech has expanded several times over the past few years and now has over 115 employees.
