STEM Videos Feature TriPly Construction and Farmworkers Clinic

We are pleased to showcase the final two videos from our project with the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center (YV Tech).  Over the last few months we have worked with a great student production crew to highlight careers and STEM skills needed for success at six different local companies.  To learn more about this project click here.

The video project has gained statewide notoreity as a model business education partnership.  The videos allow companies to portray what they do and the key occupations, skills and attitudes needed for success within these businesses.  We are thrilled with these videos because they allow younger adults to see what local companies do and the careers they offer.  Not every business is able to offer plant tours, visit classrooms or provide job shadows so these videos are a great way of showcasing local employers and the key skills they need from current and future employees.

As part of the overall initiative to advance STEM education New Vision is also building pages to feature these companies and videos on a regional STEM website. To the right is a mock up of the page we created for Memorial Hospital featuring the video clips.  As you can see we provide a fair amount of information about the company, its jobs, and the wages offered for particular positions.  We will continue to expand on these pages in the future and hope to add links to classroom projects and problems at the bottom of each employer page.

Over the next year we also plan to produce more virtual tour videos featuring other local businesses.  Stay tuned for more updates from our office!
