Thermoforming Systems, LLC (TSL), established in 2002, is a plastics thermoforming equipment factory located in Union Gap, WA. The company manufactures the machines that are utilized by plastics manufacturers to produce cups, foodservice containers, and a variety of other disposable packaging used by food and beverage companies around the world. The growth in the food packaging industry has increased demand for the machines that TSL builds, and as result the company is currently expanding their facility to meet this growing demand.
The company recently broke ground to add an additional 20,000 square feet to their existing 50,000 square foot facility. The new addition will include three bays, utility room improvements, paving, and lighting. Roger Moore, Vice President of Sales, is managing the expansion. “This expansion will give us the ability to almost double our production,” Moore said.
TSL purchased the 7.5 acre Union Gap site in 2006, leaving 2.5 acres for future expansion after building their headquarter facility. A mere ten years later, the company is now investing $1.5 million in the new expansion. TSL currently employs 95 people and plans to hire up to ten more once construction is complete. “Last year TSL produced 25 machines. With the expansion we hope to reach a production rate of 35 machines every year,” said Moore.
