New STEM Videos Showcase Key Skills and Local Careers

January 10, 2014

We are very pleased to share two new STEM video clips that highlight career options and skilled needed for success at GE Aviation and Shield Bag and Printing.  These videos are a central piece of our office's work with employers and educators to develop a robust talent pipeline.  Now that these two clips are done we plan to produce at least six more highlighting local companies and careers.

New Vision is pSTEM videourposely teamed up with the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center's Video Production Department to produce videos.  We wanted YV Tech students to produce these clips because our target audience for these clips is younger adults (see our blog on why this is important!).   Our team has been thrilled with our student production team. Leah Shannon, Jacob Galbreath and Erick Richmond have gotten off to a great start with our first two company videos.

Leah and the production team are doing videos at Memorial Hospital and Tree Top next.  These videos are part of our overall effort to promote STEM education and promote good jobs and careers close to home.  Stay tuned as we work on this project - we will be sharing our next clips soon and more importantly talking about how our team (including the students) will market and get the word out about these videos.
