The Yakima County Development Association and Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce announced today that eight emerging businesses are advancing to the final round of the Enterprise Challenge business plan contest.  These entrepreneurs were selected by a group of 26 judges that met with and evaluated business plan contestants at an afternoon trade show last week.

Based on their scores and evaluations, the judges ultimately picked the following eight companies to move forward in our contest:

Cuddle City Toddler Beds creates toddler beds with a padded headboard and rails emphasizing comfort, style and quality.

First Tee Driving Range & Putting Course will bring a high end golf driving range and putting experience to Yakima adjacent to the Sozo Sports complex.

Mandies Art Parties teaches art classes in a party atmosphere at local venues throughout the Yakima Valley.

NRS Systems created a product named Mercury for businesses to manage video and electronic communications with employees.

Sorbatto creates great tasting value added blueberry based products for wholesale and retail customers.

Structural Integrity is a licensed home inspection and design firm serving Yakima County.

Whipsaw Brewing is a family and dog friendly microbrewery located in Ellensburg.

Wycked Hitch manufactures custom hitches for the popular Polaris Slingshot.

The eight finalists are moving on to a series of advanced workshop on business planning and financials to ready them for submitting their final business plans in early March. They will also be offered a course on “Perfecting the Pitch” to prepare them to make a live presentation to a panel of seven judges.  These judges will score the contestants and select the contest winners. The contest winners will be announced at the Enterprise Challenge awards banquet on March 31st at YVtech at noon.
