TOOL KIT: SCORE Focuses On Small Business Assistance

Local SCORE chapters are a great resource for entrepreneurs and small business owners.  SCORE is affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and has been mentoring small business owners for more than forty years. SCORE has local chapters across the country - over 13,000 volunteers nationwide work within these groups to offer small business entrepreneurs confidential business counseling services at no charge.

The Yakima Valley SCORE chapter is made up of a diverse collection of professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to help start and grow local businesses.  Their free personalized service provides local entrepreneurs and small business owners access to expertise in business finance, marketing, planning and operations. Fred Nyberg, President of the Yakima Valley chapter says that their mission is to help business owners identify problems, determine causes, and work together to find solutions.  He expects to work closely with community partners to offer a host of small business workshops this year.  To schedule a counseling appointment call  877-575-9941 or request a meeting online.

In addition the SCORE website provides ongoing free webinars on current business topics like managing social media, tax strategiies and health care options.  Here is a link to their  Upcoming Webinars
