Yakima County is 4,296 square miles making it the second largest county in Washington State. Three entities own over 1.7 million of the 2.75 million acres in the County. Interstate-82 runs through the heart of the Yakima Valley connecting to I-90 to the north and I-84 to the south making Seattle, Spokane, and Portland all within three hours drive. Junior Achievement Poised for Take Off
I recently attended a training session for volunteers interested in helping Junior Achievement (JA). This national organization teaches work readiness and financial literacy to young people all over the world. Washington State’s JA chapter has been around for over 50 years but it just recently expanded its programs to Central Washington.
