Photo Contest Produces Dazzling Images of the Yakima Valley

July 16, 2010 by

We are pleased to announce the winners of our LiveYakimaValley photo contest.  New Vision staged the competition to enhance our websites and support our promotional efforts.  Our organization is thrilled with the response we got to our contest.  The photos clearly show we live in a beautiful place and they will undoubtedly help us promote the region as a place to live and do business.

See the photos!

New Vision wants to thank our contest judges:

Ken Whitmire, Whitmire Associates;
Gordon King, Yakima Herald Republic; and
Martha Goudey, Freelance writer and photographer.

With over 40 entrants and 200 photos the judges did a great job selecting the best photos.  They ultimately awarded prizes for photos depicting scenic landscapes, culture, and arts/entertainment.

Here are the winners:

2nd Place – Clear Lake at Dawn by Mike Dawson
3rd. Place - Naches Valley Fog by Brian Durr

    All of these photos are terrific. We have some real talent here in Yakima and it is great to have a venue for all of us to see these Artists’ works.
    I hope you run this contest next year-I’m inspired to get out the camera now.

    Hi Tina,

    We’re glad you enjoy the photos and very pleased with the number of photographers who entered the contest. If we do run another one, and there’s a high probability, we’ll be sure to let you know. Thank you!
