Yakima Trucking Company Improves Services Through Strategic Acquisitions

October 23, 2009 by

Haney Truck Line, a Yakima based trucking firm, has recently acquired two Northwest trucking companies making it one of the largest trucking companies on the west coast and Canada. Haney operates in eight western states and into British Columbia and Alberta.

Seattle based Puget Sound Truck Lines and Eugene, Oregon based Nickel Plate Express were purchased by Haney two weeks ago and announced October 20th, 2009. Combined the two firms operated 165 tractors and 466 trailers with 65 contractors. This will add to Haney’s 400 tractors, 1,000 trailers, and more than 500 employees.

Haney operates five trucking terminals and various parking yards throughout the Northwest and this acquisition will allow for better customer service. According to Mike Richardson, president of Haney Truck Line, “This transaction will allow us to better serve existing customers, offer compelling expanded service offerings to new customers, and provide greater capacity to the broader West Coast truckload market.”
